This felt like an eternity to me. A lot of the framing was very nice.

Sometimes you just want a fun sci-fi romp with something to say - even if that message is as subtle as a sledge hammer. I think my favorite of Bong’s English language films. There’s a lot going on and I’m assuming in the novel plot threads and characters get more development (Kai in particular seems to be of importance but under utilized)? Ruffalo on the other hand was entertaining but over utilized for my taste. Pattison continues to be great. I love his choices and career and will continue to show up for him. If you look like Naomi Ackie my dms are open.

Poor Things is so god damn odd and funny and beautiful. Just a magnificent feat. Mark Ruffalo deserves all the praise Ryan Gosling was getting for Ken. Emma Stone is amazing.

An undeniably impressive feat of filmmaking of a variety that is no longer common. Sweeping visuals! Swelling score! Intermission!! This was An Event and I loved that about it. And always love Adrian Brody, he’s great here. I just wish I loved the back half of the movie as much as the first. It remains intellectually stimulating throughout, but do feel like it’s trying to cram in two more movies worth of story in a way that isn’t totally successful.
