Most of the time I watch old movies, anything crime and mafia related and recently started getting into horror
Apparently this is a remake that is almost completely the same, that’s the reason why so many people rate this very low. As I haven’t seen the original one called ‘Voyage to The Prehistoric Planet’ I am reviewing this as a first watch. There are some good parts in this movie, especially the charming monster suits but the movie is too slow and drags on. Most of these monster futuristic movies blend into each other as they are all pretty much…
Beautiful and sad romance set in a gritty, dirty and yet stunning Paris.
Everything was just perfect, the setting, the song choices, the camerawork and the actors… man, Juliette Binoche her transformation was so stunning!
What a movie! I was going to rate this lower because the 35mm print was really annoyingly bad at some times and really bothered me. But than again as I am writing this a few days later after my viewing this movie still lingers in my head that I cannot rate this any less than 5 stars.
What a great love letter to Italian genre cinema!
Only yesterday I got this movie recommended by fellow horror podcast friends Davy and Maurice so I couldn’t wait to watch this.
I think I was expecting more or I need to let this one digest more and give it a rewatch in a while. It also felt a little bit too ‘American’ for my taste. Or Italian actors can get away with more silliness than Americans can, I don’t know.. something felt a little bit off.
Edgar Wright definitely watched some Gialli and I fucking love it!
