"I wish I knew how to quit you" is in contention for the most heartbreaking line in film history.
Its rare that a film makes you feel for its characters as well as Nickel Boys. It is a truly nauseating portrayal of how these boys were treated and the cinematography draws you in and doesn't allow you to lose focus.
The first 45 minutes or so are tough to settle into but the final hour and a half is near perfect cinema. If you want to see it definitely do so in cinema, any other medium wouldn't do it justice.
Easily one of the sweatiest movies I have ever seen. The amount of sweat on an actors forehead is directly proportional to the quality of the performance. Micheal Clarke Duncan wins easily.
