Really enjoyed the dramatic elements but was kind of bored by the musical numbers, which are at least half of the movie.

Almost didn't see this based on all the negative Letterboxd reviews but gave it a chance after hearing some good word of mouth and it ended up being one of my favorites of the festival. Joe Kahn set out to make some PG-13 gateway horror and ended up making a horror comedy so violent he won't allow his own daughter to watch it. Brandon Rouths kicks ass in what I'm hoping is a career revitalizing performance and he does it to one of the greatest soundtrack of all time. This movie fucking rips.
