Isle of Dogs 2018
Grew on me. For whatever reason, I seem to be predisposed with low expectations for Anderson’s animated films. Fantastic Mr. Fox was good but not on the level of his live-action work, in my opinion. However, this style leaned more towards realism and opened the door for countless classic Wes Anderson moments of creative wonder and exquisite detail. The bento box preparation “cut” scene is sticking with me, I thought that one was fantastic.
