1. Lots of fascinating symbolism. The white dog. The donkey. The Apollo missions. “Nickel Boys” is fantastic for a critical viewer.

The script is for all audiences, I mean there were some jokes that you were not going to understand until you’re an adult.
I didn’t recognize that so much of the film can be sung-along to. Great soundtrack.
Such a memorable film in every way possible. Won the first Animated Feature Oscar. A milestone of a movie for sure.
Definitely worth the hype. You got Maya Hawke, Ayo Edibiri, and others all in one package. Is it just me or is Bloofy creepy? Also why did Anger do Pouchy dirty before the conclusion of the movie? Otherwise, absolutely loved the film. I wish I had this in middle school.
Really interesting how music, social media, the rise of amazing entertainers (Jaquel Spivey for example), etc. added to this new story.
