CODA is one heartfelt dramedy that is just touching you to the core. This coming-of-age gem hits the notes so perfectly. Representation matters!

Can we all appreciate the acting range and versatility of Stephanie Beatriz? Topbilling this film as Mirabela's voice actress and serving the 99 precint as the aloof and secretive Rosa Diaz are two completely different roles she aced. Not to mention her mini role in Modern Family as Sonia, Gloria's younger sister, brought a new tone to the said show. This woman deserves so much more.

A brilliant movie staging different perspectives of motherhood. Leda who claimed she's an unnatural mother in the film revolves around the center of strangeness seeking peace at her own pace. Colman has effectively protrayed one disturbed and distressed soul who will never find peace until the end of the film. Meanwhile, she took on a motherly role and befriended a young mother whose name is Nina played by Johnson which revealed that this short-time foundation won't redeem how ugly it can get as a mother as seen through past to present sequences.

Foregrounding American maleness, rootlessness and master discipleship as its cinematic themes, The Master boasts two contrasting characters exquisitely portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix as Freddie Quell and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Lancaster Dodd and their strange bonding-repelling relationship. Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, this brilliant film is designed to challenge and frustrate its audience whilst looking for a clean resolution-- an astonishing element of the said film.
