  sounds about right didn’t care for the romance but i guess that’s the only manner of seeking out depth in a girlboss type… world = doomed etc etc play on my phone as soon as the movie ends yeah we’re done we’ve been done and every review on this seems to have missed the point

  i think gus van sant’s method of filmmaking isn’t for me… i’m always unsatisfied. he plays up certain themes so much that the viewer feels either patronized or especially corned-out. it’s too american, too hollywood. you know what i mean? he’s ahead of his time in that he treats the audience like a bunch of idiots who can’t read between the lines, something i’m always complaining about with every 20s film i see. i can appreciate it’s style but otherwise whatever. it didn’t piss me off so it’s just okay. i don’t fall into the girlboss killer trap anymore.

  a level of offensively bold that only the 2000s could reach. it's hilariously uncomfortable and raises a lot of questions that i don't think people today are willing or able to ask about consent and the general public's (in many cases, not so) hidden disgust with disabled people. such a good movie.
