Surprisingly well made little teen thriller. Feels like one of those kinda cheesy paperback novels that your big sister would read in the early 90s, like Lois Duncan by way of R.L. Stine.
Basically the girl from that one show that your big sister would also watch in the early 90s is prank calling people with her friend and winds up having phone sex with a psychotic yuppie that moonlights as a serial strangler.

Methinks the screenwriter got cut off one day by a woman and said “here’s my power fantasy where I teach that stupid bitch a lesson”.
The ending has me semi convinced that this is some sort of attempt at red-pill satire. She literally decides not to honk her horn anymore, and is praised by her chicken-tendie-gobbling, Fortnite-duos-playing son that she “made a good choice”.

Halloween II 2009
The pinnacle of horror remakes, and possibly Rob Zombie’s best film next to Lords of Salem. Rehashing the source material as a 20 minute opening dream sequence gives Zombie full reign to reimagine and re-contextualize the narrative threads as he sees fit, and ho boy, does he ever. A perfect duology with its predecessor, I will defend this film to my dying breath.
