  This does so many things right. Lanthimos’ commentary on social norms, female sexuality, cynicism, and other stuff is so up my alley and I liked that so much. Also Max McCandles is a symbol of purity and a good heart, he is an intelligent character. He is not driven or held by ego unlike Ruffalo’s Duncan who is driven insane by Bella’s lack of proclivity towards monogamy. And it all makes you realize how stupid indeed society’s perception of sex…
