I need everyone to know how close I was to not logging this, and that I didn't choose to watch this. Also, that this may be the worst film ever made and I am ashamed that I still laughed. I was glad to not be sober consuming this.

The Substance 2024
I wasn't exactly sure how to rate this based on the fact if the last act hadn't of happened I probably would have an entirely different view of it. I have so many thoughts and so little brain space after witnessing this. The director is clearly a lover of film and wanted to make a splash - and boy did she! Incredible cinematography, great sets, wonderful actors and a big "WTF" ending that feels exactly like that one director I can't name or you'd know exactly what's about to happen. Wow.

Ahhhh!! As someone who usually spots twists a mile away this one really got me and I'm both mad and upset and excited about it. What a film.
I feel like half of the time not a huge lot was happening, but it still contributed to the story at least and have us hints into what is actually happening in the lives of the characters, not always making sense until the end, and now I'm very concerned about Cole's parenting…
