Weird film! But quite good! Wasn't expecting it to be so sci-fi odd but liked the stylistic choices.

I mean it's just fucking gorgeous isn't it?? Like everything looks so natural while being simultaneously groundbreaking and unbelievably impressive. I think this and the first one are an absolute technical masterclass and think the oscars should reflect that.

If I'm being honest I'm still not fully excited by the story! Like I'm on board but feels like the first time in a long time that I've actually cared about the spectacle and the action a lot more than the substance.

Also wasn't expecting Austin butler to literally pop up and then get popped off within like 90 minutes.

It feels really downplayed in this, but what they have done in the last 5 years has been fucking huge!! So why don’t they talk about it?!

I cannot believe how utterly devastating this was in every single way. So tender and quiet in its utter destruction of the viewer, it’s truly one of the most claustrophobic and upsetting experiences I’ve ever had with a film. It was absolutely outstanding, but I don’t think I could ever go through it again. The fact that there are things in this film that reminded me of my own father as he gets older really cuts me up.
