  Affleck gets a lot of stick for his directorial pieces, but this is class. 
  Pete Postlethwaite’s (the florist) monologue, if you could call it that, is just incredibly sinister. “She doped up nice and proper” was undoubtedly improvised and lands so deep.

  Rewatching this movie has made me realise that this type of movie is slightly lost in our world today. In the early to mid naughties, we would get at least 2 indie movies a year where the message throughout would be profound and really touch the viewer. 
  This is one of my all time favourite movies to rewatch. 

  More thought provoking movies need to be made about dysfunctional families. Captain Fantastic and The Florida Project are two recent enough films…
