  I'm not normally a melodrama fan but "Rachel Getting Married" is an effective film about addiction, grief, and family. Anne Hathaway plays Kym, a recovering addict who attends her older sister's wedding. Rachel, the sister, doesn't understand Kym's narcissistic behavior despite working towards a degree in psychology. Their father is just trying to keep everyone happy and is trying to forget what Kym did several years earlier. Hathaway does a fine job in a very difficult and different role. Rosemarie…

  Sooooo people like this movie? Really? The entire conceit is sexist, physical and emotional abuse is handled in a video game fight sequence cause like those are comparable or something, the manic pixie dream girl has no agency, Michael Cera tries dumping his girlfriend by making racial jokes about her, etc etc etc. I’m sorry, what am I supposed to like about this?
