    Tetsuo: The Iron Man

    ★★★★½

It is like watching a slow death. But it's sped up. And it's a love story. (Or maybe not).

Tetsuo is grotesque. Painful both in an auditory sense and visual sense. It crept under my skin and wriggled around.

I found it feverish. Unsettling. But despite this I'd watch it again and again.

I thought I'd find this film funnier - it wasn't the paragon of so-bad-it's-good I expected.

It limps along from start to finish without anything attention grabbing.

I did love the Bela Lugosi stand in, which made his character intermittently hold his entire cape across his face (in 2018 he would have been CG'd in).

The convoluted explanation from the Aliens at the end was another highlight. I am now counting down the days to imminent solar warfare.

I might revisit this in a few years, I think my mood would make all the difference.

    ★★★½

Black Panther has some amazing moments, but it’s third act leaves you wanting more.

This film could have been more interesting if it didn’t answer to the beck and call of the wider Marvel Universe. However, for a Marvel film, it’s as good as they get.

I’d say it’s my favourite Marvel film out of those I’ve watched. (Micheal B Jordan is the standout of this film and is watching just for him).
