What a gamble that turned out to be. Great film.
This film is timeless. There is no other word for it. Whether you watch it in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 00’s or beyond, this belongs in the history books as THE best musical of all time.
From its absolute get go, Frankie Vallie’s intro immediately sets the tone and it does not take its foot off the pedal. Every scene is an instant classic, every song is straight onto a playlist and every character (no matter how old they look) is memorable.
Easiest 10/10 I can give. Enjoy just as much as I did.
Watched this purely due to the popularity of Hell Divers and the constant comparison between the two.
The satire cannot be missed unless you are 2 years old or have an IQ of 40. The similarities between the mobile infantry of the future and the modern day state of military operations in the 90’s is impossible to miss and it is safe to say those ideas have long stayed since its release nearly 30 years ago.
