the conflict between politics and religion are so complex in this franchise and has so many layers to it i became so invested. i also really enjoyed austin butler’s character, his sociopathic mannerisms are soooo interesting and i wish i saw more of him! another 5 star from villeneuve that i feel deserves all the praise it’s getting. i felt so immersed in the world and am glad they added little doses of funny through javier bardem’s character, without him…

really well put together adaptation that stays true to most if not all of the dialogue/story and i feel shakespeare would be proud of! plus a beautiful star studded cast that doesn’t feel like they were just put there to sell tickets. definitely one of my favorite literary adaptations!
