The Jungle Book 2016
As a long time fan of the classic animated film and the original Rudyard Kipling literature about the adventures of Mowgli, I was very nervous going in to this movie. I was not ready for the hilarious yet extremely human and relatable film that was shown. The integration of the classic songs without making it a full blown musical, the amazingly realistic CGI animals, and the added detail to the story has made this film one of my new favorites. And I hate to say it...I like it more than the animated original. I can't wait to see what Disney does with other classic films.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner 1967
When I watched this, I did not know what to expect. I literally had no idea what the premise was and I was pleasantly surprised. This is the kind of film that I think history classes should show while teaching about the impact of civil rights and the aftermath.
In terms of technical elements, it's just an ordinary film with ordinary cinematography. However, the acting and the writing are EXTRAORDINARY. There's a reason that it won for best original screenplay…Translated from by

To watch all of the films on the AFI Top 100 list, I figured I'd start at the bottom because if I went from the bottom to the top, it'd just keep getting better and better. After watching this film, I was shocked...how could it get any better from here?!
