Scarily relevant to today’s America, I found the language of 70’s racists jarring and upsetting, especially in view of current events. However Spike Lee strikes an expert balance between shocking the viewer with the horrors of racism and prejudice (both from where it’s expected, in the Klan, and from where it is less expected, such as from high up in the police and government institutions themselves), and providing comic relief in the form of the natural rapport between the many well rounded characters. Also loved the music score
