Another fun movie, but lacked the chemistry and energy of the first movie.
I've been hearing so much about the second movie, I decided to watch this one first. I was a fun two hours.
Each time I watch Sordid Lives there's a new favorite line. From the pig story to wooden legs to the fur stole, the laughs abound. Every scene reflects pure Texana. A subtle, but genuine, move is lifting the funeral food dishs to see who made them.
Brother Boy's (Leslie Jordan) interaction with the therapist and Sissy's (Beth Grant) rubber band popping provide some of the best laughs in the movie.
An often forgotten part of the movie is Olivia Newton…
The book is always better than the movie. As the documentary accompanying the bestselling food book it falls far short of the grand notion the book presents. The content fails to whet my appetite for anything, and it does not convince me that salt, fat, acid, and heat are the essentials I need to cook. The book is releavitory and altered my view of cooking; the documentary made my eyes tired from trying to read poorly contrasted subtitles.
