this series is so nuanced because on the one hand, eddie was better than his father. he improved, wasnt physically abusive, and he was a decent father— though very flawed. yet he still played into all the societal pressure jamie felt to be a “man”. his actions (or lack of) directly caused the creation of his son becoming this.
