Invasion of the Neptune Men 1961
I was introduced to Toei's Invasion of the Neptune Men through MST3K, and it's notorious as one of the worst films they ever watched on the series. While I agree, it is pretty bad, being able to finally watch the original Japanese version in HD (yes, I bought the blu ray because I'm insane) definitely improves the experience a bit.
Admittedly there's not much here, it's a simple alien invasion story told from the perspective of a group of children.…

Some of the humor is a bit dated and silly for my taste but this is one of the most technically impressive films I’ve ever seen.

Twilight Zone: The Movie 1983
Even with an all star lineup of directors, it’s striking how much better written, directed, and acted these stories were back in the 1960s. Some of the visuals in the Joe Dante segment are pretty fun, though.
