I somehow avoided spoilers and the meme-indication of reviews on here had me expecting something less than what it was, thankfully.
Funny and thrilling and serious in its examination of faith, certainty, power, the church, modernity. I loved it, and will definitely rewatch soon.

Fun, immaculately filmed, fantastic acting, and goes pretty hard into the whole 'bond over the hill' vibes. Just not far enough.
I felt no stakes with any of the characters, and you know that basically all the main characters are safe until the appropriate and right time for someone to die.
Bond gets shot and bleeds out for half the first of a (admittedly very impressive) action set piece, M gets shot and bleeds out while struggling across a field…

Like all the best magic tricks, it only gets better on rewatch. Knowing the secret behind the trick only makes it better.
When you are "in on the trick" with this film, you realize how obvious Nolan is presenting it for you. I feel him grinning along with you the whole time, because you are having a blast seeing all the tells (some so obvious!), hearing the double meaning behind much of the dialogue, and watching for the next glimpse…
This is a movie that was overpowering to me the first time i saw it. I'm a sucker for an impressionistic film with beautiful music and a story that takes time and multiple viewings for it to really sink it. And this nails that to a t.
