  Was assigned this for school and pressed play with a boring expectation of a film. But now I’m crying and my pillow is wet. This is a love story for earth and heaven and is tragic but rewarding in the end. I really love this film and now will read the book with a great expectation, the complete opposite of
  What I thought the film to be. Also, my first black and white film (other than Malcom and Marie)

  The only time Johnny felt no fear was when he ran after Ponyboy into the church on fire. Dallas might've been a douche, but he saw his pre-prison, younger self, in both Johnny and Ponyboy. That's why Ponyboy's death pushed him over the edge. Johnny didn't even get to live, and the ignorance he received from his parents cursed him for life; he's in the ground now. And him wishing to kill himself as a release from his parent's torment…
