Three things saved this movie from becoming a slop filled “don’t look up” level of political satire and they were: Mickey 17, Mickey 18 and Nasha.
I admire Robert Pattison as an actor because I think it would’ve been very difficult to pull off such a genuine heartwarming performance in a scatterbrain movie with so little focus. But he did, and I was 100% rooting for Mickey throughout.
As for Nasha/Naiomi she definitely would’ve benefited from more development, but to…
A movie with such a predictable premise did not need to be 2 and half hours.
It played all its best cards in the first act and then showed nothing new or interesting for the rest of the film.
Cut the runtime and maybe it’d get away with it.
