    this was eloquently filmed - beautifully and stylishly tragic. kristen stewart embraced and bodied her character’s claustrophobic melancholy, which was the beating heart of the film. if this were a fantasy film, it would have resonated much better. 

    the problem in biopics like these is that, by the end, they completely lose sight of respect and ethical boundaries. there is no evidence that diana spencer did anything that occurred in this movie. biopics with no grip on reality entirely trade…

    i wanted to write a normal review but i’m horrified by the abhorrent majority of 5 star ratings. 

    in top gun: maverick, everything is viewed as the enemy. the unnamed country producing uranium (implying nuclear bombs!!!) is apparently a threat to allies. right off the bat, maverick is justifying the traditionally american imperialistic approach to world problems, while also dehumanizing the ‘enemy’ by giving them faceless black masks that are comparable to stormtroopers. this contributes to toxic nationalistic tendencies we…
