I’ve been looking back at Sacha Baron Cohen’s interviews lately and decided I’d give this film a try…

One thing I love about his characters is the capacity they have to bring out GENUINE reactions from people who are convinced that the person they are talking to is a real person. The rage and the hate that he coaxed out of people in the way he did it was hilarious, and always has been. It amazes me how he captures this stuff on camera.

Like I said with the second film, I really love the improvisational, loose nature of this film in a way that reminds me of the Eric Andre Show, where Sacha Baron Cohen has absolute creative liberty over unsuspecting, real people who aren’t paid actors. I also love the irreverence of how it shows American society in 2006, and it’s kind of funny that parts of it have remained largely unchanged since this film came out 18 years ago.

I thought this documentary was not only really helpful for allowing me to gain an understanding of a period I’ve wanted to learn about for a long time, but it also had a lot of depth to it with the way the BBC decided to make it.

While I would love to hear from expert historians who have studied the…

A Liar's Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python's Graham Chapman

I’m a huge fan of Monty Python and particularly my favourite member Graham Chapman, and his story has always managed to pique my interest. I’ve seen clips on YouTube of this film here and there over the last five years or so, and I’m really glad that I finally got around to seeking out the entire thing.

I love the styles of animation that are dotted throughout this film, that really enhance the narrative and keep things as visually entertaining…
