  I’m incredibly conflicted by this movie.
  It’s gorgeous - visually revolutionary. But it’s the ideology I’m iffy about. Sure, the ideas of generational trauma, nature vs nurture, coming of age, and female autonomy/sexuality are really interesting. I have an issue with the through line of this film being sex. It’s where I can tell it’s been written by a man who has really tried to understand the female experience, but alas, is still a man.
