Really nice to see a film that’s overtly political about Cornish problems, but I disliked that the emmets were portrayed as pricks, because gentrification doesn’t rely on the people gentrifying a community to be bad people - rather people with more money and a different/no culture seeking to disenfranchise locals both fiscally and culturally. This portrayal of the emmets as bad people undermined this because I feel it made me dislike them because of their personality - not their existence as a demographic. The issue of gentrification is one that is systemic, not personal.
