Deliverance 1972
Huge fan of this film and its thematic ties to freedom, explored in the main characters' lust for adventure in the Appalachian mountains which was very symbolic of the first colonists to settle in Appalachia.
Although the film is somewhat controversial due to misrespresentation of 'hillbillies', it delivered thrills and tension like no film I have seen before.
100% recommend watching if you're into films that delve into the history of colonists beginning to live in the Americas.
