M & D both preferred #1. D says #1 had better overall plot structure and kept him much more engaged with the large-scale 'story'/'mystery', even though D says #2 had better moment-to-moment dialogue, (esp, as Craig's familiarity and comfort with the character grows). M says the cast of #1 seems more fully human and more interesting to her.
