I think the question about whether this movie is "good" is less important and less fun than asking whether this movie is interesting, to which I wholeheartedly have to answer yes. There are scenes in here where you think you're watching a masterpiece, and other scenes where you think you're watching a low-budget student film from the early 2000's, and that constant bounce between the two is incredibly entertaining to watch. The beginning is a little dull, and Toni Collette's character in the first thirty minutes just feels ripped off from the much better Muriel's Wedding. It's an average rom-com, but I do have to applaud this movie for being from 2000 and having a transgender character without making her identity the butt of any dumb jokes.

It was fine. A fun ride with some nice humor. It felt like it owed a lot to Heathers. My favorite character was Taffy, and I really liked how they chose to make her basically unimpeachably kind rather than falling into the stereotype of the mean stepsister. It made her feel more authentic, for some reason, and gave some heart to the film.
