(SPOILER ALERT)… for those who haven’t seen the trailer, the movie’s protagonist is an AI “companion” robot played marvelously by Sophie Thatcher. With that said, the film also happens to be the best unofficial offspring to the Terminator franchise :). With a feature film debut of an African-American Captain America, this could’ve been an interesting film pushing the conversation of race politics in America forward. But nah, they played it safe. The plot too, is paint by numbers. The films saving grace are the actors, whom all deliver great performances given the poor material. In the end… it’s “just another” Marvel movie, which sadly, continues to pale in comparison to the peaks of End Game and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
I didn’t come into this film (or even out of this film), as a Robbie Williams fan per se, but as a movie fan I was very impressed. The CG and the musical choreography were top tier, the acting was great, and the story its self hits some emotional chords successfully while offering some insight into Robbie’s life and the perils of fame.
Definitely falls into the “Great Movies, But Never Wanna See Again” category. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen the movie and I think I’m just now regaining my appetite. Lol
