Somewhat a frustrating viewing experience. Camerawork is nauseating at times, very predictable plot with characters falling into stereotypes that could get a director labelled racist if this was made in the 2020s. Kill scenes are pretty cool I guess.

Just rewatched this as I’m a lot wiser now. Unique depiction of childhood trauma. Violence despite being gratuitous at times, does fit in well with the substance. Still one of the more intense thriller/horror movies I’ve watched as this film does not give breathing space to the audience and I deeply admire it for that. Also, love the soundtrack in the end credits :)
