Visually a very dark and twisted film, and the soundtrack elevates it even more. Lily Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgard are very clear standouts. The voice of Count Orlak was booming in my head even after leaving the theatre.
Excellent adaption and “refresh/update” from the original. Maybe not all changes served the title but they certainly served the movie.
Overly long film, adds very little to the franchise and at times Indiana Jones feels overshadowed by new side characters we have never met before.
Though Mads Mikkelsen should be a shining point for the film, his character feels like a watered down and boring one-note villain. Crystal Skull already served to wrap-up Indiana Jones story rather nicely and ended it on a happier note, so this entry confusingly backsteps all of that and then decides to place a different but similar ending in its place.
Its not unwatchable, but its definitely not rewatchable.
