  It insists upon itself
  

  Only so much self-degradation a movie can do. It’s cool to hate Disney and the current state of Marvel. We get it. Ryan Reynolds exhausts all of his bits in the first scene and it just feels tired after that. There’s obviously some very redeeming “hell yeah” moments that you’d expect from a movie like this, but it really missed the mark for me. Maybe I’m just too edgy and zoomer to like Marvel. 😎

  Watching this with people talking over half the dialogue probably didn’t do me any favors in terms of understanding and analyzing this movie critically. I think in a vacuum American Psycho has potential to rise to a 9 or 10/10 for me. Bale’s performance is legendary, I just didn’t get to genuinely experience it because Schrambo wouldn’t shut up. Just watching the film, though, I was able to appreciate the masterful cinematography. Will have to rewatch and pay more attention to the score/soundtrack and dialogue.
