Hits all the beats but stretches them out for far too long, the majority of scenes should have been shrunk into the first 45 minutes. Still, this has some of the most brutal moments I’ve seen in a long time.

Presence 2024
The first half felt like a film school level script, especially in terms of character traits. The second half was much more eventful, but it wasn’t until the literal last 5 minutes that something happened that got a visceral reaction out of me. Do those final moments make up for all that time and energy leading up to it? Not exactly.
Didn’t mind the experimental approach too much, but I suspect if I wasn’t told to wait until the twist at the end I would definitely have had a harder time sitting through this.

The Green Knight 2021
Man, the first movie in a theater since Sonic the Hedgehog. Time flies.
But seriously this was one hell of an introduction back to seeing movies in the theater again and regardless of the film, it was a very joyful experience.
Did I like the movie? I think I did? It leaves you a lot to unpack despite having a classic fairy tale “Heroes Journey” structure, and I’m so curious to potentially dive into the source material.
