Just watched it on original film at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. 11/10 movie, 12/10 experience. My God.
What can be said about it that hasn’t already? War is Hell. Tatsuya Nakudai’s performance is one-of-a-kind. Nothing feels unnecessary or not essential to the story or style (aside from maybe one or two too many shots of stuntmen falling off horses near the end, but hey, when you have the footage, use what you got).
