  one of those where i’m always half between the piece itself and nostalgia. it’s nothing remarkable by scorsese standards, but always one of those movies i’ve seen in parts and enjoyed across multiple occasions. the classic ‘i’ll leave this on until the dishes are done and we’re all ready to find something to properly watch’ movie in my house growing up, while the dining room stills smells of chicken chorizo pasta bake and cheap beer. i certainly still have a good time watching it, albeit for some rather dodgy irish accents.
