We Live in Time 2024
Everyone in the theater was sobbing and I felt crazy for not really being moved?? Maybe it was because there was so much hype around the fact that this movie would supposedly make me cry, but I found it to be incredibly flat. It tells you exactly what will happen at the beginning, so there’s really no tension, turns, or rising stakes, which is typically the formula for a good plot.
However, I do respect the movie’s strive towards non-flowery…

Made me shudder throughout. Watching two immovable faces attempting to make out. The 20+ year age gap. All the product placement. The Hallmark-movieness of it all. So much wining. A tough watch.
