Midnight Swan 2020
wow, I thought this movie was incredible. Was bummed to see the reviews didn’t necessarily agree. I watched this in Japanese, and if you don’t understand Japanese, I think a lot of the nuances were lost in translation for those viewers. This film did well in japan, and regardless of reviews and what its contents were, it gives exposure to a Japanese audience that has little to zero exposure to Trans lives. The portrayal of the relationship between an adult trans woman and a young teenage girl grew beautiful towards the end. I will say I definitely wish they casted an actual trans actress lol
