So incredibly mixed on this one.

The story foundation is super strong. I had a ton of fun with the first 30-40 mins but once Micheal Keaton’s Batman enters the fray, it becomes so disjointed, messy, and completely lost any ounce of investment I had.

The CGI, as you have probably heard, is absolutely atrocious. Given what Marvel does to their special effect artists, I can only imagine similar treatment was done here because there is absolutely no way this…

yeah yeah, I know the script is a little dull, some of the dialogue is iffy and the characters are not realized enough to really care, and well, the de-aging on Jeff Bridges is a little odd–

but I swear I have too much fun watching this. the visuals and the sound design/score are incredible.

the world feels so real, which is ironic given it’s a video game, but the atmosphere within it is so unique and sick. the characters are a lot of fun, given the lack of depth, and the story–while not totally original or smart–is still a blast from start to finish.

Oh yeah, Culkin absolutely deserved that Oscar.

Rare case that the movie is better than the book.

I had a good time with this one! Pattinson knocks it out of the park (but that’s expected), definitely one of my favourite performances of his. Everyone else does a fantastic job as well. The visual effects are really great in this too. I felt it dragged just a littleeee too long, but nothing dramatic. I recommend this one!!

maybe I’ve been too hard on you, Sandler.

wow this film is astonishing, the pacing is snappy, the script feels so organic, the score is ecstatic, and the acting feels so real. Adam Sandler really shines in this and it’s so refreshing seeing him actually act in a film for once.

highly suggest checking this one out when you can.
