WALL·E 2008
My son’s FINALLY watching a new movie and a massive upgrade from what we’ve been watching (I like Cars but after 3000 watches, my brain wants something different).
I’ve always loved Wall-E mainly due to Pixar’s actual only sci-fi (I think). And as a lover of the genre, it warms my heart my son picked this.
It makes me happy cause there’s moments where no dialogue, it’s all music and visuals and my son can pick up what’s going on. He’d go “oh no, Wall-E’s sad!” without me having to explain to him. Maybe there’s hope for the newer generation in media literacy!

It’s like A24 and Neon fucked, then had a baby and brought us this arthouse masterpiece. Peak cinema.

The Florida Project 2017
This wasn't a film with actors playing a particular role, this was a film that shows REAL people facing the harsh realities of life. Once it reveals who it's truly about, that's when it strikes home for me.
Every person on screen, even children, act as if there is no camera in front of them.
