Kind of crazy to think the book this movie is based on was written and released in 1813.
It’s hard to put my finger on exactly what I liked about this movie but I’ll take a stab at it. I’m pretty tired though so forgive me if this seems incoherent.

I’m sure the real Lucius Aelius Aurelius Commodus is rolling in his grave knowing that Joaquin Phoenix portrayed him in a Best Picture Award winning film as an emperor who not only doesn’t get any, but is so down bad he’s willing to try and get with his sister. Thankful that unnecessary sex scene didn’t make it into the final script 🙌🙏

I thought that this movie was an incredible depiction of human emotion. The juxtaposition of love and hate, hope and despair, justice and mercy all give way to a successful and compelling story that is enthralling.

Sci-Fi films are cool, but they’re even cooler when you feel as if there’s a possibility they’re not fiction at all. Christopher Nolan does just that with Interstellar. Stunning visuals, incredible action, and the science we know of was right.
