A Complete Unknown 2024
A lot to like here despite the density of clichés in the script. This movie does not really investigate the psychology of dylan, and instead the drama serves as a tour guide getting you from one musical performance to another. Early in the film Dylan says “on a stage, you have to be kind of a freak. You can be beautiful or ugly, but you can’t be plain.” The storytelling here is just plain. Still i was floored by every leading performance, and it’s definitely not the worst of this cursed genre.
