  Ikiru's relevance in modern-day business and political dealings cannot be understated. The film poses the question: what would you do if you knew you were going to die? More than this, however, Kurosawa provides commentary as to what one *ought* to do. Ikiru is a beautiful tragedy that dissects the human condition, the capitalist bureaucracy, and the confrontation of mortality.

Following
