  I guess the sentiment regarding the film seems to be whether you think the original novel is good or not. I understand why people might call this too naive but they fail to consider the time this was written in and the young audience it continues to find and help bring understanding to. 

  I think as an adaptation this is the best you can go for. Terrific performances and faithful to the source material.

  I’ve always been a huge Talking Heads fan since my middle school years. I remember they were the first musical group that I listened to their whole discography. This film captures that in its best form since it is a reimagining sonically of many of their great songs that somehow plays even better than the original recordings. Not to mention the energy of these performances and the creative visuals…

  In short I found the characters and plot funny but somewhat shallow. This is fine during the screwball comedy section but the ending tries to pull something off emotionally and in my opinion falls flat.
