35mm projector we were watching on skipped a reel about 3/4 the way through and it was terrifying and we had to stop the movie and the theater sat in scared darkness for ten minutes as they fixed it. Perfect twist to add on to this watching experience, fit really well, so Lynchian.
Also, realized this time that this movie makes the best use of POV shots I’ve ever seen. They’re just so… ghostly. The movie tells us that this is how these people see the world and it is just adds this horrific feeling to everything. Haunting and powerful.
