Saturday Night 2024
Great experience watching this with my parents who grew up watching SNL. Super similar to September 5 with its tight pacing and just being absolutely chaotic. Actually a hilarious movie that does the “real time” format really well. If you like SNL, you gotta watch this movie.

The way this film recounted such an intense moment of history was masterfully done. Similar to Spotlight, September 5 focused on the actions of reporters more than anything else. The tight editing and quick pace worked really well, something that other films could learn from.

“Turner, this isn’t the fight!”
This movie remind me a lot of The Zone of Interest with its unique way of displaying tragedy. While The Zone of Interest used sound design to show how detached humans can be from tragedy, Nickel Boys made you experience it firsthand with its use of POV for the entire movie.
Just an incredibly important story that shows a part of history that schools shamefully don’t teach about. Everyone needs to learn about this.
