The first half is a classic Rodriguez/Tarantino crime thriller whilst the second half is a decent action/horror film.

Alien: Romulus 2024

Eraserhead 1977
I think this was my third time viewing this. The first time was on YouTube in its early days when people would upload entire movies but in ten minute increments because the website couldn’t support 90-120 minute videos.
Not my favourite Lynch but it’s one that I probably think about more than most others. It does have the quality of a short film stretched to feature length.
Like his final film, Inland Empire, this is fully enveloped in an otherworldly eeriness that’s almost unbearably claustrophobic because of the cinematographer’s use of deep shadows and the droning sound design.
